Verde Search has been engaged by a leading UK and Irish accountancy firm to appoint an Audit Director to one of its specialist sector teams. The team is recognised as a leader in its field on both sides of the Irish Sea, and the sector it serves has grown strongly in Ireland in recent years, drawing in significant international investment. Reporting directly to the partners, you’ll take ownership of a broad client portfolio and be the senior adviser to the decision-makers at each business.
The role offers more variety than a typical audit directorship: alongside audit, there’s accounts preparation, one-off assignments and advisory work. It’s a chance to become a recognised expert in a growing niche, at a stable firm with working hours that are genuinely sustainable.
💥 What the role involves:
Owning a varied client portfolio, from planning to final delivery
Being the lead contact on audit, accounts and compliance work
Overseeing budgets, file reviews and the resolution of significant issues
Leading and developing the team to a high standard
Working with the partners to grow the portfolio and win new business
💥 What you’ll bring:
A recognised accountancy qualification, ideally with at least 1 year’s experience at Audit Director level in Ireland
In-depth technical audit and accounting knowledge
The ability to run several engagements at once
Strong leadership, communication and client skills
A commercial outlook and a natural approach to business development
💥 A confidential first conversation
Moves at this level are rarely made quickly, and they shouldn’t be. If you’re curious but not actively looking, an initial conversation is simply a chance to learn more about the firm, the team and the portfolio, with no commitment either way.
To find out more, send your CV in confidence or contact Brendan Catney for a discreet chat. If this role isn’t quite the right fit, there are other Audit Director positions in the market worth talking about.
Your details will never go to a firm without a full conversation with you first and your explicit consent and all communications are priave and confidential for your peace of mind.
